Charlene Chieff, I suffer from a lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis which is inherited, a disorder that affects your lungs, digestive system and multiple organs, a disease that allows you to have limited strength due to recurring lung infections or at times become underweight and have trouble breathing, our trips to the hospital that doesn’t get any better than the time before.

I was diagnosed with CF at the age of 3 weeks old, I was one of the lucky ones that was diagnosed at an early age in my life, my mom noticed the same symptoms in me that she noticed in my brother who unfortunately lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 25yrs. I have lost many friends and 2 family members to this disease, and I am planning to continue fighting not only for the fallen ones but the family that I have in my life.

I have 3 biological kids and 2 adopted, my dream is to be there and experience my kids growing up and hopefully one day see them get married.

I want to share my story with many others, not only our fellow CF fighters but the outside world, for them to know you are not restricted to anything when you have a disease but that you can do anything that you put your heart in.

There is no cure for CF but recently there has been medication made available that has been very effective in treating Cystic Fibrosis, it is called Trikafter. I need this medication if I one day want to live out my dream, to have many years to breathe and live long enough to tell the tale.

For me to get access to this medication I need your support, I would like to join the Discovery Medical Aid that will allow me to have access to this medication, after the waiting period has lapsed then I will have full coverage for this life changing medication.
