How one family’s generosity is helping bridge the gap for our Cystic Fibrosis community — right when it’s needed most.

There are moments in the life of a person living with Cystic Fibrosis when help simply cannot wait. A medication that needs to be accessed today. A treatment gap that can’t stretch another month. A family facing a crossroads with nowhere left to turn.

It’s in these moments — the in-between, the urgent, the overlooked — that BE HERE NOW was born.

A Family That Chose to Show Up

BE HERE NOW is a bridging support campaign made possible entirely through the vision and generosity of the Popper Family. Rather than waiting for the “right” moment or the “perfect” project, the Popper Family asked a different question: what happens to the people who fall through the cracks between diagnosis, treatment, and long-term support?

Their answer was to create a fund built specifically for that gap — the bridge between a crisis and a solution.

Why “Bridging” Support Matters

Living with Cystic Fibrosis often means navigating a maze of medical appointments, medication access issues, insurance hurdles, and financial strain — all while managing a serious, chronic illness. For many families, the hardest moments aren’t the big, planned expenses. They’re the sudden ones:

• An urgent medication top-up before the next funding cycle
• Transport to a specialist appointment that can’t be postponed
• A short-term need that, if unmet, spirals into a much bigger crisis

These are exactly the moments BE HERE NOW was designed to meet. Not a replacement for long-term treatment access work, but a fast, responsive layer of support that says: we see you, and we’re here now.

Turning Generosity Into Action

At Breathtaking Fundraising NPC, we work every day to support people living with Cystic Fibrosis through advocacy, treatment access coordination, and psycho-social support. But even the most well-designed systems have gaps — and it takes partners like the Popper Family, willing to fund the unglamorous, urgent, in-between moments, to close them.

Since launching, BE HERE NOW has already begun making a tangible difference for members of our CF community, offering timely, dignified support exactly when it’s needed.
