65 Roses For Cystic Fibrosis
65 Roses Story
Inspired by the touching tale of a child’s pronunciation of Cystic Fibrosis, the 65 Roses challenge aims to bring hope and awareness.
Support Our Mission
It started out as our birthday month celebration but we continued this campaign to be able to support those who end up staying in hospital for extended periods and need financial support. Join us in to make a tangible difference in someone’s life while in hospjtal by contributing R65 per month. Your donation will directly support those affected by Cystic Fibrosis, helping us provide essential resources, medical equipment and care. Every contribution counts, and together, we can make a significant impact. Sign up for a recurring donation and be part of our journey to bring hope and healing.
A small monthly donation. A lifeline for families in hospital.
Why “65 Roses”?
“65 Roses” is a phrase often used in the cystic fibrosis community. It comes from young children who struggle to pronounce cystic fibrosis — and instead say “65 Roses.”
Over time, this beautiful expression has become a symbol of hope, resilience, and community support for families living with cystic fibrosis.
Our 65 Roses Campaign invites supporters to donate R65 per month — a small amount that collectively makes a life-changing difference.
What Your R65 Helps With
When a child with cystic fibrosis is admitted to hospital, stays are often long and unpredictable.
During these periods:
-
One parent usually stays in hospital full-time
-
Income is reduced or lost
-
Travel costs increase
-
Meals, parking, and accommodation add up
-
Other children at home still need care
-
Medical-related expenses pile up
This is where the 65 Roses Campaign steps in.
Your monthly R65 donation helps us support families with:
-
Emergency financial relief
-
Food and daily essentials
-
Travel costs to and from hospital
-
Accommodation support
-
Medical-related needs
-
Practical care during long hospital stays
Your support helps families focus on what matters most — their child’s recovery.

Real Families Helped by 65 Roses
Family Story 1: Baby Luke
6-Month-old baby, Luke, was diagnosed with a rare gene mutation of cystic fibrosis (class 1), a life-threatening genetic disease affecting his lungs and digestive system. Despite the challenges, Luke is a fighter, and we’re determined to give him the best possible life.
We were able to donate Luke and his mom some much needed items via the 65Roses4cf campaign
Update from his mom on 15 March:
“Baby Luke is currently battling some internal bleeding and needs to go for a scope tomorrow to see where it’s coming from 😔. It’s been tough taking him to doctors’ appointments and the hospital without a proper way to carry him.
That’s why we donated him a pram, to make things so much easier.
Thanks so much for your support – it means the world to us🙏
We’re grateful for your love and support ” 💜
Family Story 2: Wikus
Wikus had a long hospital stay: We were able to help support them and relieve some of that strain.
A Small Amount. A Big Impact.
You may think R65 isn’t much — but when many people give together, it becomes a powerful support system for families in crisis.
Your monthly donation becomes:
-
Groceries for a parent staying in hospital
-
Petrol to travel to specialist care
-
A meal during a stressful day
-
Basic essentials when income stops
-
Relief when families need it most
Most importantly — it reminds families they are not alone.
